"I’ve wanted to correct my severe under bite since 9th grade when an artist drew a cartoon of me with a perfect smile. I did some research about possible dental procedures, but no one could assure me that it would correct my bite, and I never built up the courage to do it.

Eventually, I simply didn’t smile and it started to affect how I was perceived as a person. I discovered Dr. Locklear in an article in Black Enterprise magazine, and after speaking with Makael I knew that this was the place for me.

I received my new bite and new smile on March 5th, the day before our engagement photos. Needless to say, the engagement and wedding photos were the best pictures I have ever taken.

“Last night my husband and I were sitting across the kitchen table from each other, and we were cracking-up about something that my oldest had said that left us hysterical. So every time he and I looked at each other, we burst into laughter. About the third time laughing and him looking at me, he suddenly stopped and said, "Those are the prettiest teeth I have ever seen." I just smiled and kept eating and playing. He stopped laughing and said, "No, really Don, they are the prettiest teeth I have ever seen. They look so real. Lisa wanted a full, beautiful smile without it being obvious that any work had been done. We suggested nine veneers, which are similar in concept to a press-on nail, to enhance the proportions of the teeth and fill in the "frame" of the lips. The bonded restoration integrates with the patient's natural tooth and has the effect of creating the desired shape and color, while filling in spaces or correcting crowding.

“Several years ago I was diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder (MCTD). It’s an autoimmune disease that can affect many parts of the body. In my case it affects my muscles and joints causing extreme pain. I had issues with TMJ in which I experienced jaw cracking and severe facial tension. As a result of Dr. Locklear’s expert care, the number of flare-ups with my jaw has significantly decreased, I feel much, much better, and I get lots of compliments on my gorgeous smile!

Alice's goal was comprehensive care and an improvement to her smile. Her bite was over-closed, creating problems with forces in her mouth. This had caused bone loss and periodontal problems at the gum line, fractures, and excessive wear. She chose full mouth neuromuscular restoration to accomplish her goals. We relaxed the muscles in her jaw and determined the position for her ideal bite, then stabilized and restored her to that position with appliance therapy followed by crowns and veneers. She is thrilled!

“Like many, I can procrastinate with the best of them. My dental care was unfortunately at the top of that list until one rainy day, when I showed up at Dr. Locklear’s front door in acute pain with an abscessed tooth. From that day forward, with Lynn’s treatment plan, I was able to conquer my fear and restore my good dental health. That led to my decision to go forward with the restoration of my smile and since that day I continue to get many positive comments about my enhanced appearance.

“My dental problems started in 2001 and I struggled with a temporary dental bridge for my front teeth. I could not chew food on both sides because of missing lower molars. I went to several dentists with no luck and my savings dwindled low. This year my dental situation went from bad to worse. Several times my front teeth fell off in front of my friends and clients, much to my embarrassment! For the last two months I used denture bonding cream three or four times a day to keep my front teeth secure.
